Edéhzhíe Management Board
The Edéhzhíe Management Board is the mechanism that drives the management activities for the Edéhzhíe Protected Area. The two parties (Government of Canada & Dehcho First Nations) appoint the members of the Edéhzhíe Management Board. The management board then discusses decisions for Edehzhie. Board members are appointed for terms of 4 years.

chair - Herb Norwegian
Herb is an active land user and appointed chair for the Edéhzhíe Management Board. He is a traditional knowledge holder from Rabbitskin and is a respected elder known for his roles in governance, land use planning, and Indigenous Protected Areas advocacy.
Fort Simpson - Jim Antoine
The Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę̨́ community and Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę̨́ (Fort Simpson) First Nations and Métis organizations are represented by the DGG Edéhzhíe Board Representative. Jim Antoine has been an active land user for decades and his experience with Edéhzhíe comes from familial ties to the area. Jim’s previous work spans all ranges of governance from local to regional and territorial roles; his participation on the board is an invaluable asset as he is a proud Dehcho Dene, hunter, family man, community member, and experienced politician.
Fort Providence - Louie Constant
The Deh Gáh Got’ıę Kue community and Deh Gáh Got’ıę Kue (Fort Providence) First Nations and Métis organizations are represented by the DGG Edéhzhíe Board Representative.
Wrigley - Jay Horesay
Jean Marie River - MARGARET IRELAND
Margaret Ireland is from Tthets’éhk’edélı Kue (Jean Marie River) and represents Jean Marie on the Edéhzhíe Management Board. She is an active elder and fluent bilingual speaker who sits on the Elder’s committee for Dehcho First Nations. Margaret is well-known as a knowledge holder who contributes to the Environmental Management Committee, Dehcho K’éhodi Committee, and Tthets’éhk’edélı Elder’s council among being active in other regional work with education, health & wellness, and climate change.
DEhcho First Nations -
Ramona Pearson
Ramona works as the communications coordinator for Dehcho First Nations and represents the Dehcho First Nations on the Edéhzhíe Management Board. Her family trapped in the Kadzaa Tu (Bulmer Lake) area. Ramona is the liaison between the Dehcho First Nations and other regional bodies, the affected communities and non-affected communities (as per the Edéhzhíe establishment agreement), and manages the communications strategy for the Edéhzhíe Dehcho Protected Area.
Environmental & Climate Change Canada - Lindsay Armer
Lindsay works as Protected Environment and Climate Change Canada, Canadian Wildlife Service Manager and represents the Government of Canada which is a partner in co-management of Edéhzhíe on the Edehzhie Management Board. Lindsay was trained as an ornithologist and provides the Board with legislative interpretations and insights about species at risk in Edehzhie. Lindsay is dedicated to ensuring that Indigenous and public interests in addition to social, economic, and environmental values are part of government decision-making.
